If you feel sluggish, depressed, stuck in a rut, fatter than you’d like… it’s time for a reset and tune-up!

Cleanses and fasts have become more and more common as people aim to detoxify their bodies. There are some pretty intense detox diet plans that go to the extreme, but they aren’t always necessary – and sometimes do more harm than good.

My definition of a cleanse: eating healthy whole foods, and releasing the things that are dragging us down – not about starving ourselves or forcing a “detox”.

There’s usually no need to do the intense kind of detox cleanses you often see touted. Your body is a wonderful machine that will naturally take care of anything bad in your system–if you get out of the way and allow it to.

Understanding why you would want to do cleanse will help you plan a healthy detox to cleanse and re-energize your system. Different people have different goals going into a detox, but knowing the benefits of a detox diet plan can help motivate you to achieve your own goals.

So why cleanse?

If our bodies are designed to cleanse themselves, why do we even need to do anything special?

Unfortunately, most of us don’t treat our bodies as well as we should every single day.
